Las Vegas, NV – Studio 204, in collaboration with celebrated vocalist Lupe Aguilar, is proud to unveil The Treasure Project — a long-awaited musical journey more than 40 years in the making. The second single from the forthcoming EP, “Everytime,” showcases Aguilar at her most vulnerable and refined and is released on the 25th July, 2025.
A sultry, slow-burning R&B gem, “Everytime” pulses with emotional authenticity and understated elegance. With its laid-back groove, velvet-soft instrumentation, and Aguilar’s smooth, resonant vocal delivery, the track blends timeless soul with a distinctly modern flair. Her voice navigates themes of love, longing, and emotional resolve with a quiet intensity that lingers. Expertly produced and radio-ready, “Everytime” is intimate, atmospheric, and unforgettable.
“A velvet-wrapped confession draped in soul and soaked in restraint — ‘Everytime’ by The Treasure Project ft. Lupe Aguilar is a masterclass in R&B minimalism and emotional depth.”
The EP’s first single, “Dreamin’,” was released on 18 July 2025 via Studio204Records.com, marking the official rebirth of a musical legacy nearly lost to time. Produced by acclaimed musician and engineer Karl “KC” Cousin, The Treasure Project is the culmination of decades of passion, resilience, and artistry.
Aguilar’s story is as compelling as her voice. Born in Cuba and raised in New York City, her father — aspiring opera singer Pepe Aguilar — moved the family to the U.S. after auditioning for The Metropolitan Opera. Immersed in music from an early age, Lupe sang in choirs and glee clubs throughout her school years, before studying at the High School of Art and Design.
Her career has spanned the U.S. and Mexico, including stints as a backing vocalist for Baba Thomas and The Light Men, War, Roy Ayers, and HB Barnum (Aretha Franklin’s arranger). She later joined the girl group CLASS before becoming part of TREASURE — a group discovered by industry veteran Robert Walker, formerly of Barry White’s A&R team. Walker, alongside songwriter Flery Bursey, introduced the group to Barry White himself, who recorded five tracks with them. Though creative disagreements over publishing halted the project, White famously returned the masters, saying: “Well then, consider this a gift.”
That gift lay dormant — until November 2024, when Aguilar, encouraged by longtime friend Audrey King Lewis, connected with KC Cousin at Studio 204 in Las Vegas. Their creative chemistry sparked the revival of those early recordings, seamlessly blending vintage soul with contemporary production.
The Treasure Project is more than an EP — it's a reclamation of artistry, a tribute to untold musical histories, and a reintroduction of Lupe Aguilar’s immense talent to a new generation of listeners.
